MIECF creates green business opportunities for enterprises
The ‘2019 Macao International Environmental Co-operation Forum & Exhibition’ (2019MIECF) will be held from 28th–30th March under the theme ‘Promoting Ecological Civilization and Green Development’.
The premier event continues to play its role as an international platform that promotes environmental technology transfer and sustainable development for countries along the ‘Belt and Road’, the Pan-Pearl River Delta Region, the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, Portuguese-speaking countries, European countries and the rest of the world.
The 2019MIECF event is hosted by the Government of the Macao Special Administrative Region, with the National Development and Reform Commission, the Ministry of Science and Technology, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, and the Ministry of Ecology and Environment as its special supporting organisations.
The event is co-organised by the governments of the Pan-Pearl River Delta Region and co-ordinated by the Macao Trade and Investment Promotion Institute and the Environmental Protection Bureau.
This year’s MIECF continues to advance international environmental exchange and co-operation among governments, industries, universities, research institutes, users, and financial sectors, offering an exciting line-up of activities such as the Green Forum, Green Showcase, Green Business Co-operation Day, Green Matching and Networking, and Green Public Day. Coupled with other forums, business-matching and networking sessions, ‘The Ways Toward Ecological Civilization’ and ‘Green Finance’ will be highlights of the 2019MIECF.
New for 2019 is the ‘Greenovation Zone’, which has been set up to offer displays and networking activities related to innovative green technologies, with the aim of promoting the application and exchange of innovative, environmentally-friendly technologies.
The three-day event will collaborate with the ‘Online Business Matching Service Platform’
and hold on-site industry exchange sessions to support business matching and networking activities.
This year marks the 12th anniversary of MIECF, which debuted back in 2008. With stable progress over the years, the event has played a pivotal role as an international platform promoting technology transfer between global environmental industries and sustainable development.
MIECF was recognised by the Global Association of the Exhibition Industry (UFI) in 2011 as a ‘UFI-Approved Event’ and granted the ‘Excellence Conference and Exhibition Award 2017’ of Macao. And the outcomes that MIECF has generated each year have been broadly acknowledged in the MICE industry. For example, last year’s MIECF witnessed the signing of 35 agreements and 349 on-site business-matching sessions held in the show’s Green Matching zone, bringing together over 50 pioneers in the environmental protection industry, leaders of multinational corporations and regional policy-makers from different countries and regions to share their visions, as well as the latest corporate strategies and industrial tends.
