Rohitesh Dhawan, CEO of the International Council on Mining & Metals (ICMM) is to speak in keynote panel ‘Addressing Societal Expectations – re-thinking how countries and communities can benefit from mining’ at the Future Minerals Summit in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia (11–13 January 2022).

The international mining industry is facing arguably "its most important decade", as the world starts the transition from fossil fuels to renewable energy, noted Mr Dhawan.  On the back of his confirmed participation at the Future Minerals Summit in Riyadh, Mr Dhawan stressed ICMM's simple message of "mining with principles" to maximise the benefit of mining while minimising the harm to people and the environment. 

ICMM’s CEO said the Council seeks to ensure that the lives of everyone touched by mining are made better – and that the operations are safe, fair, equitable, just and sustainable.

Held as part of the session ESG & BUILDING A SUSTAINABLE MINING FUTURE at the Marketplace Theatre on Wednesday 12th January 2022 (start time: 15:05), the keynote panel discussion ‘Addressing Societal Expectations – re-thinking how countries and communities can benefit from mining’ will feature an array of luminaries from the world of mining. Aside from the ICMM’s Rohitesh Dhawan, the expert panel discussion will include:
