KONE to equip Hotel Signia by Hilton Atlanta

KONE, a global leader in the elevator and escalator industry, has won an order for 16 elevators and six escalators for the new Georgia World Congress Center headquarter hotel Signia by Hilton Atlanta.

Connected to the Georgia World Congress Center and overlooking Mercedes-Benz Stadium sports and entertainment complex, the 975-room property features 75,000 square feet of world-class meeting space, a destination bar, signature restaurant, and premium wellness amenities. Construction is slated for completion by late 2023.

“Having previously installed equipment at Mercedes-Benz Stadium, KONE is excited to play a continuing role at the Georgia World Congress Center campus,” said Ken Schmid, Executive VP of KONE Americas. “We are confident that our unique expertise in people flow will help deliver a superior customer experience at Signia by Hilton Atlanta.”

Advanced solutions bring enhanced efficiency, convenience and insight

In addition to 15 passenger elevators, one service elevator and six escalators, KONE solutions to be installed at Signia by Hilton Atlanta include KONE Destination and KONE E-Link™.

Unlike conventional lift control systems which only register the desired travel direction, the KONE Destination control system takes into account desired destination floors and the number of waiting passengers to significantly improve efficiency and convenience.

Meanwhile, the KONE E-Link™ facilities management tool enables the remote monitoring and command of elevators and escalators – in one or several buildings – from one location.

Signia by Hilton Atlanta is owned by Georgia World Congress Center Authority and managed by Hilton Management Services. Boston-based Drew Company is the developer, with Gensler as the architect and a joint venture between Skanska and SG Contracting as the general contractor.

The order was booked in the second quarter of 2021.
