Riyadh-based Water & Environment Technologies Co. (WETICO) – Saudi Arabia’s leading integrated water and wastewater treatment solutions provider – has been awarded an order of SAR 34 million (approximately US$9 million) for the supply and delivery of 15 sets of oil Modular Skids. The new contract is with Al-Rashid Trading & Contracting Co. (RTCC), for end-client Saudi Aramco.  

The Modular Skids, which will be manufactured at WETICO’s site in Riyadh, will be installed as part of state-owned Saudi Aramco’s Berri development – Onshore Flowlines & Tie-ins. 

National oil giant Saudi Aramco is developing its offshore Berri field, located on the east coast of the Kingdom, in order to expand its onshore processing capacity. Berri oilfield has been in production for over four decades. 

The field is being expanded by owner-operator Saudi Aramco under the US$6bn Berri Increment Program (BIP), as the oil giant looks to double the oilfield’s crude production capacity to 500,000 barrels per day (bpd) in order to offset the natural decline in the field.

 

Mr Zaher Salem, WETICO’s Director of Operations, said his company was “delighted” to announce the new contract win with Al Rashid Trading & Contracting Co., and for WETICO to be contributing through its equipment to the continued productivity of one of KSA’s major oil fields. 

Spanning a total area of 15,000 square metres in Riyadh 2nd Industrial Area, WETICO’s manufacturing facility is one of the largest specialised facilities in the MENA region in the field of water and wastewater equipment manufacturing.
