Yuvbir Singh, the incoming CEO for the Water Technologies & Solutions (WTS) Division at SUEZ

French utility giant SUEZ has announced the appointment of Yuvbir Singh as CEO of its Water Technologies & Solutions (WTS) Division. Mr Singh will take up his position on 8th April, succeeding Heiner Markhoff.

A graduate of the University of Pune with a Bachelor of Engineering degree in electronics, Yuvbir Singh joined General Electric (GE) in 1995, holding various engineering, sales and marketing roles. From 2004–2015, he worked for GE Water, where he gained extensive knowledge of the water industry, played an integral role in a series of transformative acquisitions, and ultimately led the Engineered Systems team. In 2015, Yuvbir Singh was promoted to Vice President of the global locomotive business for GE Transportation, and was made Vice President of equipment in 2018.

Yuvbir Singh will take up his functions as the CEO of Water Technologies & Solutions on 8th April 2019.

After leading the GE Water and now Water Technologies & Solutions business for 10 years, Heiner Markhoff has made the personal decision to step down as CEO, effective of 30th March 2019. With a 25-year track record of exceptional results at GE, he is recognised as an experienced and successful executive. He has been instrumental in the integration of Water Technologies & Solutions into SUEZ. The company has stated that Mr Markhoff will continue to work with SUEZ in an advisory capacity.

“This first year of integration of Water Technologies & Solutions was successful, notably with the involvement of Heiner Markhoff. I would like to thank him very warmly,” said Jean-Louis Chaussade, CEO of SUEZ.

“Based on his strong experience, Yuvbir Singh will take this very promising activity for the Group forward and will provide tailored solutions for industries in order to help them increase their economic and environmental performance, but also improve their brand image,” he added.
